Meet Brooklyn Private Tutor Brian Ricks
I am a chemical engineer and tutor with more than a decade of experience in the tech sector. I started tutoring when I was in high school, and I have been doing it full time for the past three years. I was always fascinated by math and science, and I learned early in life that tutoring others helped strengthen my own skills.
I was valedictorian of my high school graduating class, and I went on to major in chemical engineering at Clarkson University. I tutored throughout college while keeping up my own grades, and graduated at the top of my major. I attended graduate school at Tufts University, where I was also a teaching assistant. I also worked as an engineer and scientist, primarily in the fields of surface chemistry, clean energy, thermal analysis, and measurement techniques.
I relocated to San Diego, and returned to tutoring while interviewing for engineering positions. I was able to meet more and more students each week, and I eventually decided to give up engineering in favor of tutoring full-time. I launched Bricks Tutoring in San Diego in 2015, and then re-launched it on the east coast when I moved to New York in 2018.
I can help you learn more in less time, with less stress and better results. You can pass that class, ace that exam, or earn that STEM degree. I have the skills and experience to guide you through those tough STEM courses.

I am available Sunday through Thursday, 10am to 10pm.
One student: $60 for the first hour and $40 per additional hour
Two students: $80 for the first hour and $40 per additional hour
Three students: $90 for the first hour and $60 per additional hour
Note that I have a one hour minimum. You can pay at the end of your session by cash, check, or credit card.
I will meet you at your home, on campus, in a coffee shop, or wherever you prefer for your tutoring session in Brooklyn, Queens & NYC.
